Delegation of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget of the Parliament of Montenegro attended the First meeting of Parliamentarians of Member States of the Energy Community, held in Vienna, on 4 July, organised by the Secretariat of Energy Community and the Regional Cooperation Council.
During the meeting, the participants got acquainted with the history of the Energy Community and legal framework for establishing energy market, which had contributed to establishing of a stable regulatory and market surrounding. In addition, it was emphasised as precondition for attracting investments for energy sector and providing of higher degree of safety in energy supply, development of the market competition together with improving of ecological surrounding as well as providing support for improvement and reconstruction through strengthening cooperation among member states.
During the meeting, the priorities of the Energy Community were emphasised in respect of harmonisation of member states legislation with EU acquis.
Additionally, the meeting covered topics such as: social dimension of the Energy Community, rational use of renewable energy sources, regulation of electric energy and gas, as well as directive on fuel supplies.
In addition to Parliamentary delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro and Energy Community representatives, the meeting was attended by delegation from Albania, Macedonia, Moldavia, Serbia and Ukraine.
