Members of the Committee on European Integration, in the presence of Mr Aleksandar Andrija Pejović, Chief Negotiator for negotiations over Montenegro's accession to the EU, Ms Svetlana Rajković, member of the Negotiating Group for negotiating chapters 23 and 24 and Ms Branka Lakočević, Head of the Working Group for Negotiation Chapter 23, considered draft negotiation positions of Montenegro for Inter-governmental Conference on Accession of Montenegro to the European Union for Chapter 23 and 24.
The Committee unanimously adopted the Proposal for amending the Draft negotiation position of Montenegro for Inter-governmental Conference on Accession of Montenegro to the European Union for Chapter 23 - Judiciary and fundamental rights, and members of the negotiating team agreed on that. The Draft negotiation position of Montenegro for Inter-governmental Conference on Accession of Montenegro to the European Union for 24 - Justice, freedom and security was unanimously positively assessed and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will be informed on it.
The Meeting of the Committee was also attended by the parliament committees’ members who, in line with the Rules of Procedure, have competences within the Chapters 23 and 24 – Security and Defence Committee, Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration, Anti-corruption Committee and Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms.
