Chairman of the Committee on European Integration Mr. Slaven Radunović met the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Ms. Nafsika Chr. Krousti, today.
Ambassador Ms. Krousti pointed out closeness and good relation among the countries of the Western Balkans region and Cyprus, emphasising that the future of the countries of this region and Cyprus as well was in the European Union.
During the conversation, Ms. Krousti referred to the current occurrences related to financial problems that Cyprus was facing with.
Ambassador voiced optimism, stating that, regardless of the current difficulties that the EU Member States were facing with, for Cyrus and Montenegro, as small countries, the European Union was the best solution due to the fact that it represented the guarantee of safety and security.
Chairman Slaven Radunović expressed consent in terms of good and close relationship between the people from the Western Balkans and Cyprus, but also on the issue of Cyprus crises, pointing out the need for mutual support and building of friendly relations among small countries.
Radunović expressd hope that problems that Cyprus was currently facing with would be solved as soon as possible, and thanked for the support of Cyprus to Montenegro on its integrational path, provided through actual steps, and espacially during its six month long presidency of the European Union.
