26th meeting of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms

At its 26th meeting held today, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, as umbrella committee, considered Amendment to the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Anti-discrimination Law, submitted by MPs Snežana Jonica and Neven Gošović.

Following the explanation by the submitter of the Amendment MP Snežana Jonica and representative of the proposer of the Proposal for the Law Assistant Minister for Human and Minority Rights Ms Blanka Radošević-Marović, the Committee unanimously accepted the Amendment. Representative of the proposer gave consent for the Amendment to the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Anti-discrimination Law, submitted by MPs Snežana Jonica and Neven Gošović.

During the meeting, the Committee unanimously adopted the Report and information on activities implemented in the period 20 January – 20 March 2014, namely:

- Report from the Second regional meeting of parliamentary bodies competent for human rights and rights of the child, on the topic: “Rights of the Child: Promotion of the Position of a Child Aimed at Protection from All Forms of Exploitation”, held on 21 and 22 January 2014, in the Regional School of Public Administration, Danilovgrad;

- Information on visit of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms to Senior Home and Prison in Bijelo Polje, held on 25 February 2014;

- Information from the Meeting of Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms Mr Halil Duković and Deputy Chairperson Ms Ljiljana Đurašković with Minister of State for Justice and Civil Liberties of the Great Britain Mr Simon Hughes, held in Podgorica, on 18 February 2014 and

-  Information on participation of representatives of the Service of the Committee on Human Rights in the roundtable on the topic: “Social protection and employment of Roma and Egyptian population in Montenegro - the key obstacles and challenges”, organised by Center for Monitoring and Research, Podgorica, on 14 March 2014.
