With this activity the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms has expressed readiness to continue the cooperation established at the beginning of 2010, with the aim to contribute to solving the issue of children and youth with development disabilities and improving their status in the society.

In the previous period, the Committee for Human Rights and Freedoms, by considering proposals for laws dealing with the rights of persons with disabilities, submitting proposals for amendments to laws governing the subject areas and by participating, in accordance with Article 67, paragraph 2 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, representatives of the Union "Naša inicijativa" with meetings and other activities implemented by the Committee, and the Board members participating in seminars and symposia, organized by non-governmental organizations dealing with the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, has sought to contribute to improving the status, recognition and protection of the rights of particularly vulnerable population groups.

The meeting will be attended by the Deputy Minister for Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Goran Kuševija.
