Participants of the Conference were MPs of the European Parliament, MPs of candidate countries and potential candidates for membership in the European Union, representatives of the EU Delegation to Serbia, representatives of ministries and independent state authorities in the Republic of Serbia, as well as representatives of national councils of national minorities and civil society organizations.
Participants of the Conference from Montenegro, Republic of Albania and Republic of Serbia presented experiences of their countries in the inclusion of minorities and other vulnerable groups. On this occasion, members of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro presented the normative framework and specific activities taken in Montenegro regarding the inclusion of minorities and other vulnerable groups, which was assessed as positive by the other participants of the Conference.
Inter-Parliamentary Conference "Civic Representation and Political Participation of National and Ethnic Minorities" was assessed as very successful by all participants. It was emphasized that organizing such events, continuation of cooperation among the countries in the region, exchange of opinions, as well as cooperation with the European Parliament represented an important step on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration of the countries in the region and for this purpose an expectation of all participants of the Conference was expressed that similar events would be organizedin the future.
