Meeting Vuković - Hakam

The Chairman of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr. Miodrag Vukovic, docent PhD met today the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H. E. Mohamed Abdel Hakam.

 

The Chairman of the Committee Mr. Vuković introduced the distinguished guest with responsibilities of the newly formed Committee on International Relations and Emigrants. The Chairman Vuković said that the Committee will be dedicated to the parliamentary diplomacy, cooperation with other countries on bilateral and multilateral level through participation at meetings of international organizations, and above all cooperation with national parliaments with the ambition that Montenegro is recognized as a good partner, in the region and wider. Mr. Vuković expressed content for friendly relations between Montenegro and Arab Republic of Egypt, pointing out the interest for improvement of bilateral cooperation and intensifying contacts on high level.

The Chairman Vuković informed the distinguished guest that forming a Group of Friendship between the Parliament of Montenegro and the Parliament of Egypt is in process, in compliance with the tradition of forming groups of friendship with close countries. The Chairman Vuković also pointed out to the Montenegro’s results on the European and Euro-Atlantic integration path and introduced the ambassador with favorable economic and business environment in Montenegro.

H. E. Mohamed Abdel Hakam spoke about good historical relations between Egypt and Montenegro, as well as about great political cooperation, stressing the need for strengthening economic and trade links of two countries. The Ambassador praised notable results Montenegro achieved in the process of European integration, especially pointing out the role of the Parliament of Montenegro in the EU accession process.

Mr. Hakam welcomed the idea of creation of the Group of Friendship and suggested the meeting of parliamentarians of Montenegro and Egypt, which would significantly contribute to promoting the cooperation of two countries. The Ambassador also expressed the need for deepening the cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, education, as well as scientific research.

It was agreed at the meeting that in the following period further efforts should be made in order to improve economic relations of two countries and reach the level of great political relations and to continue cooperation of countries through frequent meetings.
