Members of the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration met with representatives of the Venice Commission: Mr Guido Neppi Modona (Italy), former judge; Mr Jan Velaers (Belgium), professor at the University of Antwerp; Mr James Hamilton (Ireland), former member of the Venice Commission and former Director of Public Prosecutions; and Ms Artemiza-Tatiana Chisca, Head of the Democratic Institutions and Fundamental Rights Division – Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law, Council of Europe.
The meeting was held in order to exchange opinions on new draft laws in the field of organisation of judiciary, Law on Courts, Law on Judicial Council and Rights and Obligations of Judges, Law on Public Prosecutor’s Office, as well as Law on Special Public Prosecutor’s Office.
On behalf of the Committee, the meeting was attended by Mr Rifat Rastoder, Chairperson of the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration, Ms Snežana Jonica, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee, and MP Ms Marta Šćepanović.
