During their lectures, Committee representatives referred to the significance of gender equality, implementation of the Gender Equality Law, importance of the Committee and activities it had been implementing as well as participation of women in political life and on positions where significant decisions were reached – all of those being significant issues on democratisation path. Students and high school seniors showed particular interest for lectures, thus Committee representatives agreed on further cooperation with members of the Montenegrin American Youth Alumni Association (MAYAA).
The gathering is organised within the projects “Government of the People, by the People for the People” and civic education week, which are organised by the Montenegrin American Youth Alumni Association (MAYAA) with the support of the US Embassy to Montenegro. The aim is that young find out more on development of democracy and current political processes that Montenegro is going through, then civic activism and the role that every active citizen should have in the society as well as manners in which various subjects contribute to development of the state.
