The aim of both of these events is the exchange of regional experiences and practice in application of the UN Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace and Security”, as well as national action plans for implementation of this UN resolution. The change of the concept of security, from the security focused on the country to the security of the individual, enabled consideration of security in a qualitatively different manner, and offering of new solutions to raise the security level of all citizens of a social community to a higher level. Considering the fact that initiatives regarding the introduction of gender equality into the security sector are being implemented from global to local level, the regional meeting and conference will provide the opportunity for exchange of experiences in this field, and the role of institutions and non-institutional actors in that process.
