At today held meeting, members of the Gender Equality Committee talked with representatives of the Association of Youth with Disabilities - Marina Vujačić and Sandra Nedović and representatives of the Association of Paraplegics of Montenegro - Nataša Borović and Marija Šćepanović.
Upon the discussion where opinions and experiences were exchanged, it was noted that still there is a lack of understanding of the environment and that it is necessary to eliminate prejudice against people with disabilities, and that it is necessary to connect all segments - economy, education and health care in order to create conditions for their economic independence and employment. Also, it was stated that women with disabilities are mostly represented in the NGO sector in the field of organization of persons with disabilities.
Results of the research on the topic "People with disabilities and parenting" were presented with an emphasis on what should be changed to help women with disabilities to easier decide on parenting.
