Gender Equality Committee representatives – Ms Žana Filipović, Ms Jelisava Kalezić and Ms Branka Bošnjak are participating in the Conference of Women Parliamentarians of South-East Europe “Equal and Empowered - Stronger Together”.
Two-day Conference, which is being held in Belgrade, is organised by the Women Parliamentary Network of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and OSCE Mission in Serbia, with the support of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The Conference was opened by Ms Maja Gojković, Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia.
The panel discussion includes topics such as - building power of women in parliamentary political parties, impact of cross party cooperation of women MPs on processes and policies promoting empowerment of women strengthening the influence of women in parliamentary political parties and implementation of the Istanbul Convention.
Memorandum of Understanding will be signed at the end of Conference, wherein women MPs will define the models of mutual cooperation.
The Conference has gathered MPs, representatives of executive power, nongovernmental organisations and independent experts.
