Chairwoman of the Gender Equality Committee participated in the work of the Conference presenting the project "Prevention of forced early marriages"

Chairwoman of the Committee, Ms Nada Drobnjak, spoke about the activities of the Committee that was continuously dealing with the topic of prevention of forced early marriages

 

Chairwoman of the Gender Equality Committee, Ms Nada Drobnjak, participated in the work of the Conference that was held in Podgrica today, presenting the project "Prevention of forced early marriages". This event was a part of the project jointly implemented by the OSCE Mission in Montenegro, the Permanent Representation of France to the OSCE Mission in Vienna and the French Embassy to Montenegro.

Ms Nada Drobnjak spoke in the introductory part of the Conference and highlighted the activities of the Gender Equality Committee, which continuously dealt with the topic of prevention of forced early marriages, as well as successful cooperation with institutions and NGOs.

The project "Prevention of forced early marriages" provided the opportunity for initiation of a dialogue on the objectives and planned activities of the project. Participants shared experiences and best practices in this field, which would help identify the most effective means of further course of this project.

The Conference included participation of: the Minister for Human and Minority Rights, Mr Suad Numanović, Ambassador of France to Montenegro, Ms Veronique Brumeaux, Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, Mr Dan Redford, representatives of institutions in Montenegro and the region dealing with issues of gender equality and prevention of human trafficking and representatives of local self-governments involved in the project and representatives of civil society.
