Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee attends a round table on the topic “Exercising the right to compensation by victims of violent crimes in Montenegro”

The gathering was organised in order to present the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Compensation of Victims of Violent Crimes

 

Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee Ms Nada Drobnjak today attended the round table on the topic “Exercising the right to compensation by victims of violent crimes in Montenegro”, organised by the NGO “Women's Rights Centre”, within the project “Balkans ACT (Against Crime of Trafficking) Now”, supported by the European Union within the Partnership Programme for Civil Society Organisations.

The gathering was organised in order to present the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Compensation of Victims of Violent Crimes.

The following spoke at the opening:  President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro Ms Vesna Medenica, Head of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro Mr Mitja Drobnič, and Executive Director of the NGO “Women's Rights Centre” Ms Maja Raičević.

The working group which prepared the draft of this law thanked the Gender Equality Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro, which carried out the analysis of the legislative framework on compensation to victims of violent crimes in Montenegro, with support of the OSCE Mission.
