Regional Conference “Improving women’s socio-economic status and mainstreaming of policies” held

Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee Ms Nada Drobnjak was a keynote speaker at the Regional conference organised by the European Movement in Montenegro, within the implementation of the project “Improving women’s socio-economic rights in Montenegro”.

One of the panellists at the Conference on “The Role of the Parliament in achieving the goals set” was MP Snežana Jonica.

The Conference was held in the “PR Centre” in Podgorica, on 5 July.

The research of the European Movement and Ipsos Strategic Marketing was presented at the Conference on “ Socio-economic status of women in Montenegro”, providing comprehensive and detailed description of women’s position in various areas of social life in Montenegro, in order the current state regarding gender equality to be presented and relevant measures for its further development undertaken. 

During the regional conference, experts from Montenegro and region had presentations, for the purpose of exchanging views in the gender equality field, especially its economic aspect.

Ms Višnja Ljubičić from the Republic of Croatia spoke on  “The challenges of gender equality in the EU integration”, Ms Biljana Maletin from the Republic of Serbia spoke on “The Role of NGOs - in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of gender equality policies'' and Ms Klelija Balta from Bosnia and Herzegovina on “Partnership frameworks for gender mainstreaming and women's empowerment”.

The Conference was attended by Dr Suad Numanović, Minister for Human and Minority Rights, Mr Dawn Adie-Baird from the European Union Delegation to Montenegro, Ms Sue K. Brown, the Ambassador of the USA to Montenegro and Mr Momčilo Radulović, President of the European Movement in Montenegro.
