Chairman of the Committee on Health, Labor and Social Welfare Mr. Zoran Jelić met with the Head of the UNICEF Office to Montenegro Mr. Benjamin Perks

Mr. Perks announced projects which were to be conducted and be beneficial for Montenegro and its citizens.

Chairman of the Committee on Health, Labor and Social Welfare Mr. Zoran Jelić with his associates met today in the Red Room of the Parliament of Montenegro with the Head of the UNICEF Office to Montenegro Mr. Benjamin Perks.

Mr. Jelić informed Mr. Perks of competences of the Committee on Health, Labor and Social Welfare. On this occasion he emphasized that the Committee had a good cooperation with the Government of Montenegro, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, Health Insurance Fund, Employment Office of Montenegro as the biggest consumers units, as well as with other subjects, agencies, institutions and non-governmental sector. He also emphasized that the Committee had a good cooperation with the WHO for Europe and with European institutions.

Head of the UNICEF Office to Montenegro Mr. Benjamin Perks emphasized that this organization had a good multiparty cooperation with the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro, Government of Montenegro, ministries, universities, and that it wanted to establish cooperation and partnership with the Committee on Health.

Head of the UNICEF Office to Montenegro presented the Chairman of the Committee on Health, Labor and Social Welfare with the Study on child poverty in Montenegro, Study entitled “Children in Montenegro - Data from the 2011 Census”, and submitted the Study on the research conducted in Serbia in 2010.

The research of multiple indicators will be also conducted in Montenegro in 2013, and it would refer on the situation and indicators regarding children and women.

Chairman Zoran Jelić supported the projects which Mr. Perks announced on this occasion, which should be conducted in Montenegro, emphasizing that he expected direct cooperation in that field with full support of the Committee, which would be beneficial for Montenegro and its citizens.
