Committee on Health, Labor and Social Welfare held 63rd meeting

The meeting is dedicated to Free Movement of Labor Force between the Countries Signatories of the Dayton Agreement using the Experiences of the Nordic model of cooperation, within the Igman Initiative. 

In the introductory part participants were addressed by: the Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Suljo Mustafić, Chairperson of the Committee on Health, Labor and Social Welfare Zoran Jelić, as well as Director of the Directorate for Labor Market and Employment, Arijana Nikolić Vučinić, director of the office of Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Belgrade Heinz Albert Huthmacher and Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Denmark in Belgrade, Morten Skovgaard Hansen. Representatives of the competent parliamentary bodies and executive authorities in this field from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia, as well as representatives of the Igman Initiative also participated in the meeting.

After a long and constructive discussion, participants of the thematic meeting of the Igman Initiative unanimously adopted the following Conclusions:

1. To support the Report and Recommendations of the Igman Initiative and propose to continue the work on their implementation;

2. Representatives of the relevant parliamentary committees of four states agreed to hold at least semi-annual joint meetings where the work of the expert group would be monitored and suggestions made with the aim to improve their proposals and consider other issues in their jurisdiction;

3. Participants in the meeting agreed that the next meeting with the experts of the Igman Initiative and representatives of parliaments should be held in the first quarter of the next year in the Croatian Parliament; and

4. The competent ministries of the four states will nominate one representative each who will, together with experts and representatives of the Igman Initiative and representatives of parliaments, specifically work on the implementation of the adopted recommendations.
