Fifth Meeting of the Committee on Health, Labor and Social Welfare held

Multiple proposals for laws considered.

PROPOSAL FOR THE LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO THE LAW ON TRADE UNION REPRESENTATION; PROPOSAL FOR THE LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO THE LAW ON PROTECTION OF CITIZENS OF MONTENEGRO WORKING ABROAD; PROPOSAL FOR THE LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO THE LABOR LAW considered.

Committee on Health, Labor and Social Welfare of the Parliament of Montenegro, at the meeting held on 18th February 2013, considered the following: PROPOSAL FOR THE LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO THE LAW ON TRADE UNION REPRESENTATION; PROPOSAL FOR THE LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO THE LAW ON PROTECTION OF CITIZENS OF MONTENEGRO WORKING ABROAD; PROPOSAL FOR THE LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO THE LABOR LAW.

Apart from the members of the Committee, the Meeting was attended by the representatives of the proponent of the Proposal for the Law.

By the majority of votes, the Committee supported the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Trade Union Representation, and proposed it to the Parliament of Montenegro for adoption.

By the majority of votes, the Committee supported the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Protection of Citizens of Montenegro Working Abroad and proposed it to the Parliament of Montenegro for adoption.

The Government of Montenegro delivered an opinion on the Proposal for the Law, and suggested to the Parliament of Montenegro that the Labor Law should not be accepted. The Government pointed out the reason for such attitude in its opinion.

The Committee considered the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Labor Law, submitted by MPs of Democratic Front.

By the majority of votes, the Committee did not support the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Labor Law, and suggested to the Parliament not to adopt it.
