On the second day of the XVII Cetinje Parliamentary Forum there was discussion on the rationalization of general policies of the security sector in terms of human rights and gender equality, as well as training programs and education curricula. This session was moderated by Mr. Mevludin Nuhodžić, Chairman of the Security and Defence Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro. During this session, the participants were also addressed by Mr Vladimir Ragozin, Security Co-operation Programme Manager in the OSCE Mission to Montenegro and Mr Milan Sekuloski from DCAF.
In his final remarks, the Chairman of the Security and Defence Committee, Mr Mevludin Nuhodžić, stressed that precisely from the aspect of legislative power, and in terms of timely and effective implementation of planned reforms in the sector of security and defence, it was important to fully take into account both domestic and international legislation in the field of protection of human rights, as well as in terms of respecting the principles of gender equality, and that the successful implementation or good quality and ongoing monitoring was necessary for its implementation.
XVII Cetinje Parliamentary Forum ended with the adoption of the Joint Declaration.
XVII meeting of the Cetinje Parliamentary Forum, bringing together this year more than fifty parliamentarians from the region, was organized by the Parliament of Montenegro, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Montenegro.
