The MPs discussed the cooperation of the two parliaments and were informed by MPs Mr Nimanbegu and Mr Gegaj on the composition of the Montenegrin Parliament and political relations in Montenegro.
The MPs pointed out that, as members of minorities in Montenegro, they appreciate relations that Montenegro had with the Republic of Kosovo, that those relations were being promoted every day, and that, by all means, that should be continued. They placed special focus on the area of employment - working relations during the tourist season, and regulating the status of pensioners who had worked in Kosovo, and could not make their service continuous.
At the meeting, in addition to the statements that further cooperation between the parliaments was needed and that promotion of relations would be continued, MPs Mr Nimanbegu and Mr Gegaj also welcomed the recognition of Kosovo’s independence.
MP Mr Nimanbegu expressed the desire to elevate the diplomatic relations to the level of ambassadors as soon as possible.
MP Mr Gegaj also reminded that Montenegro was a leader in the European integration and had no contentious issues with its neighbours, and pointed out that the quality of relations was evident though the contract base of numerous signed contracts, aimed at starting and promoting cooperation in the areas of mutual goals.
