Second International Conference “Strengthening the role of parliaments and governments in promoting competitiveness and economic growth in the Western Balkan Countries”, will take place in Miločer, from 26th to 28th October, 2012. The Conference, supported by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, is a meeting of the Regional Network of parliamentary committees on economy and finance of the Western Balkan countries, established at the Regional Parliamentary Conference in Belgrade, in March 2009, aimed at promotion of inter-parliamentary cooperation in this region.

Results of the regional study will be in the focus of the working Conference – strengthening the role of parliaments and governments in promoting competitiveness and economic growth,  considering the possibility for expanding the work of committees on economy and finance towards strengthening their role in that process, compliance of the program contents with all parliaments of the Western Balkans which are the network members, including goals which should be met until 2015 and steps necessary for meeting the goals.

Participants of the conference will be representatives of the parliaments, including chairmen and members of the parliamentary committees on economy and finance, experts and advisors from parliaments, governments’ representatives and experts who represent the Western Balkans countries and international organizations.

The Chairman of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr. Aleksandar Damjanović, the Secretary General of the Parliament, Mr. Damir Davidović, as well as the representatives of the Committee Service will attend the Conference.
