During the introductory part, the present will be addressed by the following: Vice President of the Government of Montenegro and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Mr Igor Lukšić, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Montenegro H.E. Ilias Fotopoulos – on behalf of presiding over the European Union and Head of the Unit for Montenegro and Iceland Mr Dirk Lange – on behalf of the European Union.
At the Eighth SAPC Meeting, Members of the Parliament of Montenegro and European Parliament will discuss topics such as: current state of negotiations and relations between the European Union and Montenegro; monitoring the recommendations adopted at the previous meeting held in Strasbourg; violence against journalists; the fight against corruption and organised crime, as well as public finance and economic reforms. As it has been practice for SAPC meetings, the agenda includes Proposal for declaration and recommendations, whose discussion is planned for the second day of the meeting.
President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić and Chair of the European Union Delegation for relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo Mr Eduard Kukan will speak at the press conference scheduled for tomorrow, 26 March 2016, at 12:30h.
The European Union - Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee was formed in June 2010, after the Stabilisation and Association Agreement entered into force. This Committee consists of fourteen members of the Parliament of Montenegro and fourteen members of the European Parliament.
Eighth Meeting of the European Union - Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC) will be held today, in the period 15.30 - 18.30h and tomorrow, 26 March 2014, in the period 9.00 - 12.30h, in the Plenary Hall of the Parliament of Montenegro.
