IX SAPC meeting starts today

The main topics will be the accession negotiations, rule of law and human rights and freedoms 

Ninth meeting of the European Union - Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC), will be held on 1 and 2 December in Brussels, co-chaired by Ranko Krivokapić, President of the Parliament of Montenegro and Anneliese Dodds, Chair of the Delegation of the European Parliament for relations with Montenegro.

At the IX SAPC meeting, MPs of the Parliament of Montenegro and the European Parliament will discuss: the current state of accession negotiations and relations between the European Union and Montenegro; implementation of Montenegrin action plans in the field of rule of law and protection of basic human rights and freedoms in Montenegro. In addition, participation of MPs in the meeting of the EP Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) is envisaged as well as participation of MPs from the parliaments of the EU member states which will be an opportunity to exchange views with the foreign ministers of the Western Balkans countries on the topic of the progress of the region in the accession process to the European Union.

MPs of the Parliament of Montenegro who will participate in theSAPC meeting are: President of the Parliament Ranko Krivokapić, who is the co-chair in SAPC, deputy co-chair Slaven Radunović and members of the Committee Milutin Simović, Obrad Mišo Stanišić, Mevludin Nuhodžić, Nada Drobnjak, Damir Šehović, Koča Pavlović, Predrag Bulatović, Danko Šarančić, Darko Pajović and Azra Jasavić.

European Union - Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee was formed in June 2010, after the entering into force the Stabilisation and Association Agreement. It is composed of fourteen members from the Parliament of Montenegro and from the European Parliament.
