Secretary General of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Siniša Stanković will participate in the Meeting of Secretaries General of the European Union Parliaments, which will be held in Rome, on 13 March.
At the Meeting of the Secretaries General, which is this year held in the Italian Parliament, the country which presided over the EU in the second part of 2014, several issues of significance for the parliaments will be considered. Within the opening session, the programme of Conference of Speakers of European Union Parliaments will be presented, considering that that regular annual meeting of Secretaries General of the European Union Parliaments, as well as of the parliaments of the EU candidate countries, represents, among other things, a preparation for the Conference of Speakers of European Union Parliaments, which is also to be held in Rome this year, on 20 and 21 April.
Within the first session of the Meeting of the Secretaries General, the matters pertaining to IPEX (Interparliamentary Exchange) will be considered, as a basic platform for interparliamentary exchange of information relating to the EU. The topic of the second session is the support of parliamentary administrations for the preliminary scrutiny and the quality of EU legislation, while during the third session the developments in political dialogue will be considered.
