Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Branko Radulović opened today the photography exhibition of the previous four sessions of the Children’s Parliament.
Vice President Radulović said that the Parliament of Montenegro organised the exhibition of photographs in cooperation with the Child Rights Centre and Save the Children in the North West Balkans, on the occasion of 20 November - the Day of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Vice President Radulović reminded that Montenegro, as a party to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, found its place among advanced countries committed to securing and protecting the rights of the child.
The exhibition, set up in the hall of the Parliament of Montenegro, represents the retrospective of the project Children’s Parliament, when representatives the Government of Montenegro answer questions posed by children from all Montenegrin municipalities; the retrospective is presented throughphotographs which depict the maturing of idea and improvement of the model of children participation in social processes, because the individual contribution of every child is an additional quality and contribution to democracy.
In addition to Vice President Radulović, Ms Ranka Perović the Director of the Children’s Rights Centre and participant of the Children’s Parliament Ms Iva Maraš also took floor. The opening of the exhibition was also attended by children who participated and co-chaired the previous sessions of the Children’s Parliament in the Parliament of Montenegro, representatives of the Children’s Rights Center as well as representatives of MPs groups in the Parliament of Montenegro.
This year’s V session of the Children’s Parliament will be held on 2 December in the organisation of the Parliament of Montenegro, Children’s Rights Centre and Save the Children in the North West Balkans, within the project “Open Parliament”, aimed at strengthening of connections between the Parliament and citizens, especially youth.
