Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Suljo Mustafić received representatives of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights: Mr Edin Koljenović from Civic Alliance of Montenegro, Ms Anita Mitić and Jasmin Lazović, representatives of the Youth Initiative from Belgrade.
Representatives of the Initiative presented to Mr Mustafić the idea on possibilities for founding the Regional Youth Exchange Programme in the Western Balkans.
They emphasise that network of non-governmental organisations from Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Serbia, since its founding in 2013, has been working on youth exchange in the former Yugoslavia. Also, they advocate for the institutionalisation of the exchange program, which would get the support of official institutions and made space for overcoming many obstacles to cooperation between universities, youth clubs, offices, and many other youth organisations.
Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Suljo Mustafić says that it is very important to build tolerance among young people and create conditions for connecting young people who will be without prejudices towards their neighbours in the Balkans. He has voiced full support to the Initiative and its goals, adding that it is necessary to create good and functional connecting model, which will include official institutions and nongovernmental sector, as well as other interested social shareholders.
Vice President Mustafić says that this idea and future models should be also discussed at thematic conferences and panels, where all holders of the process would be included, with full support of parliamentary bodies.
