In his address, Vice President Mustafić stressed that the joint integration aim of the regional countries – membership to the European Union was not possible to achieve without the active role in the regional cooperation and contemplation of the foreign policy in the regional context.
- Montenegro has defined a regional cooperation as one of the most important foreign-policy priorities. Our country has made a success in the implementation of previous reforms. We are continuing to work on reforms, primarily in the field of security and rule of law, which should bring us a positive result at the end of 2015 and invitation to NATO Alliance, Vice President Mustafić stated.
At the conference, spoke the highest officials of the Republic of Albania, Speaker of the Albanian Parliament Mr Ilir Meta, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Ditmir Bushati, Minister for Integration Ms Klajda Gjosha, Head of the EU Delegation to Albania Ambassador Ms Romana Vlahutin, Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship Mr Arben Ahmetaj, Director of Directorate for Balkan in the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr Ernst Reichel and others.
As a coordinator of the Friendship Group of the Parliament of Montenegro with the Parliament of Albania, Vice President Mustafić met Head of the parliamentary Friendship Group between Albania and Montenegro Mr Paulin Sterkaj. During the meeting, they voiced pleasure over the strengthening of cooperation between the two states through friendship groups, which may represent a solid bridge of connection and an example of good practice of parliamentary cooperation. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Montenegro to Albania Mr Ferhat Dinosa.
Vice President Mustafić also met representatives of three active associations of emigrants from Montenegro in the Republic of Albania. The meeting was attended by representatives of the association Morača-Rozafa - Pavle Brajović, Alba Montenegro – Burhan Čulić and Duklja – Hasan Lekić, acting in Shkodër. They informed Vice President Mustafić about history, activities and projects as well as work plan of the association.
Also, during the meeting, certain barriers faced by immigrants from Montenegro to Albania were stated. Vice President Mr Mustafić voiced readiness and openness, in the domain of competence of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants and in synchronized cooperation of state institutions dealing with this issue, to meet the need and act concretely towards solving problems and improving the status of immigrants from Montenegro who live in Albania.
