Meeting Mr Mustafić - Mr Galip

Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Suljo Mustafić today received H.E. Serhat Galip, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Montenegro.

Meeting of Vice President Suljo Mustafić and Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Serhat Galip passed in the constructive conversation, during which they reached an agreement on further intensifying of political and economic cooperation, particularly with regard to opportunities that Montenegro offered for foreign investments, as well as support by the Republic of Turkey to Montenegro in the process of acquiring full membership to NATO.

Vice President Suljo Mustafić stressed that relations between Montenegro and Turkey were very good and friendly, improved continuously and promoted through substantial cooperation in all fields and intensive political dialogue, noting that the quality of two relations was, inter alia, reflected in the strong support that the Republic of Turkey was providing in achieving the key national interest of Montenegro - acquiring full membership to NATO.

Vice President Suljo Mustafić emphasised the importance of Republic of Turkey’s investments in Montenegro, saying that the creation of business ambience for attracting the foreign investments was one of Montenegro’s priorities, indicating that a special legislative framework in that part was built, guaranteeing security, rule of law and protection of investments.

Vice President Suljo Mustafić informed his interlocutor that a significant number of people originating from Montenegro lived in the Republic of Turkey, which additionally connected the two countries.

Additionally, he informed him that the two parliaments had established friendship groups, assessing that those represent one of the foundations of parliamentary cooperation, but also overall relations of the two countries.

Vice President Mustafić emphasised that the further exchange of information and experiences of the two parliaments should be continued, particularly through friendship groups, as the manner of strengthening bilateral relations.

Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Mr Serhat Galip pointed out that political and economic relations of the two countries were on the rise, and that the Republic of Turkey was strongly supporting Montenegro’s path to the European Union and NATO.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors concluded that previous relations of the two countries represented a good base for further improvement of cooperation in all fields.
