Vice President of the Parliament Mr Suljo Mustafić meets with representatives of the US Embassy

Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Suljo Mustafić today met with Head of Political and Economic Section at the US Embassy Mr Eric Holmgren.

Mr Mustafić pointed out the significance of partnering relations and thanked for the support of the United States of America to Montenegro in its integration to the EU and NATO Alliance.

It was noted that political stability was important for Montenegro and that it was necessary to continue dialogue among political subjects in that direction, as a manner of overcoming differences regarding certain issues.
It was assessed at the meeting that the minority parties were a significant factor in political processes and that their mutual cooperation represented a good model for building trust and stability with a view to democratisation and integration processes of Montenegro.

- The minority parties have provided full contribution to bringing views closer and they represented a constructive interlocutor during the dialogue on fair and free elections, says Mr Mustafić.

He has also voiced his expectation that the USA support would also be present in the following period, with regard to the strategic goals of Montenegro - the EU and NATO integration.

It was concluded that the rule of law and intensifying the fight against corruption represented a key prerequisite for the overall progress of society.

The meeting was also attended by political advisor at the Embassy Mr Zlatko Ivanović.
