It was jointly noted that mutual assistance to strengthening of cooperation and mutual relations between the emigrants and their native land was required, as well as stronger relations with state institutions, especially the ones in charge of the issue of emigrants.
They voiced expectations that, through new legal solutions and representatives in the Council for Emigrants, the community in Chicago would have a more intensive contact with its homeland.
The significance of partnership between Montenegro and the USA was pointed out, which has been especially significant in the process of joining the NATO Alliance.
- Montenegro’s accession to the NATO Alliance will be a good security framework which will enhance the rule of law and create a better environment for economic investments, says Mr Mustafić.
During his stay in Chicago, Vice President Mustafić visited the newly-built religious facility, which had been bought and adapted for this purpose by emigrants from Bar, and its opening would be held at the beginning of the upcoming month of Ramadan.
Mr Mustafić voiced his pleasure over the successful completion of that project and the fact that it would be a space where emigrants from Bar and other areas can gather and they would be connected with the Islamic community in Montenegro.
He reiterated his gratitude to emigrants for all humanitarian and social activities in which they took part in their home town and all over Montenegro.
During his visit to the United States of America on the occasion of marking a decade of Montenegro’s independence, Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Suljo Mustafić was a guest of honour of the Culture Center “Rumija” from Chicago.
