The gathering organised by the Centre for immigrants was opened by President of Municipality Mr Ejup Nurković, who said that the local government was devoted to creating ambience for economic investments.
Vice President Mr Suljo Mustafić pointed out that more organised and more intensive cooperation with the diaspora was necessary. He said that it was necessary to implement laws and strengthen institutional cooperation at the national and local level.
- Our diaspora has shown its commitment to the state and the homeland by helping in difficult times and by responsible relation towards its state, supporting Montenegro’s strategic goals - Mr Mustafić said.
The Vice President of the Parliament said that the strategic objectives of the state policy - European integration and membership in NATO were the guarantee for strengthening the rule of law, fight against corruption and crime, but also the long-term stability. Mr Mustafić said that these were the preconditions necessary for creating environment safe for investments.
- It is of particular importance that both the state and the local governments encourage immigrants to invest in sustainable projects through tax relief, subventions and incentives. Creation of new job and employment opportunities is the best way to help your homeland, Mr Mustafić said.
He said that the municipality of Rožaje, through its Centre for diaspora gave an example to other municipalities which have a large diaspora, to create their own services to deal with these issues.
