“To the family Kapičić,
Montenegro has lost her great son and a freedom-loving and civil protector. Yugoslavia has been left without its faithful friend and its heroic companion. We are all left with Jovo’s fight for freedom and justice as a guide and a reminder.
Born in the captive Montenegro, in the lap of betrayed Montenegrin army in Gaeta, Jovo had spent his entire life until his final breath to fight the battle with the same ideology of destruction of his two homelands Yugoslavia and Montenegro.
Jovo Kapa, People’s Hero and a holder of the Partisan Memorial, had felt during his lifetime the blade of his time and the superficiality of judgement and punches. He had been wounded, just like Yugoslavia, by those who knew little but did plenty.
However, there is no greater nor better judge than time, years and decades that would shake off the shackles from the facts. Jovo had left behind the facts and wise decisions that the future would confirm and make an undeniable witness of his righteousness.
In this difficult moment may you find solace and peace in Jovo’s greatness and never-ending struggle.
It had been an honour to know him and be his friend. May he have eternal gratitude and glory.
Please accept my condolences.
