President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr. Ranko Krivokapić received today the Chairperson of the Committee on the Affairs of the European Union of Bundestag Mr. Gunther Krichbaum.

President Krivokapić primarily indicated that the Parliament was continuously increasing its democratic capacities and emphasized improved and intensive work of the working bodies, with an emphasis to control hearings of ministers and heads of main institutions, which were very frequent in the Parliament.

Mr. Krivokapić informed Mr. Krichbaum about the reforms implemented by Montenegro in the process of the European integration, and its earning to be the only country in the region to initiate accession negotiations with the EU. Interlocutors spoke on the further parliamentary challenges in the phase of the accession negotiation, and with regard to that, Mr. Krivokapić informed the interlocutor on activities conducted in the Parliament of Montenegro aimed at its further institutional preparation for the new European obligations.

It was mutually stated that the responsible approach to realization of all future phases on the path to the European Union was of a key importance

The interlocutors assessed that it was very important to continue good and successful parliamentary and overall cooperation between Montenegro and Germany.
