President of the Parliament of Montenegro and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Mr Ranko Krivokapić severely condemned the use of violence in Kiev, which led to death of three protesters in the course of this day.

“I am deeply sorry for the tragic losses that occurred during today’s clashes in Kiev. These tragic events represent a dangerous escalation of disturbances that have been happening in Ukraine in the past weeks and must serve as an argument that would convince both the ruling party and the opposition, stronger than any international appeal, that a constructive dialogue is necessary.

I am calling again for both police and the protesters to hold back on the violence and provocation. The Government has the responsibility to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation on how this kind of outcome of demonstrations transpired. It must also rely on the tools of democracy in order to be able to tackle the current challenges.

Having regard to the vast experience of OSCE PA with the election processes and irregularities, on behalf of the OSCE PA I am expressing my willingness to mediate in the dialogue, for the sake of peace and stability.”
