During his visit to Washington, the President of the Parliament of Montenegro and OSCE PA Mr Ranko Krivokapić met American Senator Mr John McCain. Senator McCain has been continuing to provide a strong support to Montenegro on its path to full-fledged membership to NATO.
President Krivokapić and Senator McCain jointly assessed the forthcoming months as key in reaching criteria needed for membership.
Senator McCain emphasised that Montenegro has been playing a positive role in the region of the Western Balkans and wider, thus its membership in the Alliance has been important for other countries, particularly on their path of Euro-Atlantic integration.
As President of the OSCE PA, Mr Ranko Krivokapić had a meeting with the President of the German Marshall Fund (GMF) Mr Craig Kennedy.
OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, headed by the President Krivokapić and GMF, will organise a special gathering as well as a series of other events in the Congress of the USA, in June. These events will be held as introduction to OSCE challenges within the need of adopting new OSCE strategies, and on the occasion of forty-years since the foundation of this organisation which gathers 57 countries.
The meeting will gather prominent politicians and experts from international policy, and it will be followed by gatherings in Moscow at RIAC and Stockholm at the SIPRI Institute.
