On Day two of the Winter Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which is being held in Vienna, the agenda contained the special debate titled: “Current situation in Ukraine”.         

President of the OSCE PA Mr Ranko Krivokapić opened the special debate on the political situation in Ukraine, emphasising the activities that the OSCE PA had been having in the past month since the emergence of the crisis in that country. He also reminded on his visit to Kiev and the conversations that he had had with the high officials of Ukraine on that occasion, in his efforts to help with resolving the crisis. 

The participants of the debate welcomed the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly and the President Krivokapić regarding the political situation in Ukraine and expressed expectations that the PA would continue to follow the developments in this country with dedication and to contribute to stabilisation of situation with its active approach.

President Krivokapić also presided over today’s meeting of the Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly, where they spoke on the project Helsinki +40, as well as the topic of this year’s session, which is to be held in June in the capital of Azerbaijan.
