President of the Parliament of Montenegro and OSCE PA Mr Ranko Krivokapić received today Mr Gérard Stoudmann, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Western Balkans.
From its founding, the OSCE had had an important political role, especially in this part of Europe, in the area of Western Balkans, concluded President Krivokapić and Mr Gerard Stoudmann.
Democratic and fair election processes, as well as the rule of law, are key OSCE priorities, because they signify stability, security and peace, so they must continue to be the basis for action and policy of this organisation, said Mr Krivokapić.
Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Western Balkans Mr Stoudmann estimated that the path of Montenegro toward the EU and the NATO was a guarantee of stability and strengthening of the rule of law, which is also what the OSCE advocates.
Mr Krivokapić and Mr Stoudmann pointed out that the OSCE had always had a constructive role in the democratisation process, and that it would continue its commitment to it.
“Regional cooperation between the countries in this region is of extreme significance because of a more quality and effective integration into the EU”, said Mr Stoudmann, welcoming the contribution of President Krivokapić in this field.
