President of the European Commission Mr José Manuel Barroso addressed a letter to the President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić

President of the European Commission Mr José Manuel Barroso addressed a letter to the President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić, welcoming the European Resolution adopted by our Parliament, as well as the overall contribution to the EU integration process provided by the Parliament. 

President of the European Commission Mr José Manuel Barroso, who personally signs the letter addressed to President Krivokapić, welcomes the adoption of the “Resolution on Manner, Quality and Dynamics of the Integration Process of Montenegro to the European Union”, voted in the Parliament of Montenegro by consensus on 27 December 2013.

Among other things, the Commission President Barroso points out: “The role of the Parliament in Montenegro’s accession to the EU is crucial. I believe that this Resolution will contribute to further strengthening of capacities and significance of the Parliament of Montenegro aimed at its full effectiveness in this process.”

“I look forward to continuation of cooperation between the Commission and the Parliament on Montenegro’s path towards the EU membership”, Mr Barroso concludes in his letter to President Krivokapić. 

This is one in the series of recognitions of the EU institutions to the work and efforts of the Parliament of Montenegro. In previous Progress Reports of the European Commission, the Parliament of Montenegro always received high marks for its work in the context of our country’s EU accession. The role of the Parliament of Montenegro, its work and contribution to the process has been recognised as crucial by the highest EU institutions.
