After being honourably saluted at the plenary sitting of the Parliament, Mr Krivokapić and his counterpart Mr Lammert discussed excellent relations between the two parliaments, resting on longstanding building of trust based on good and friendly intentions. Mr Lammert and Mr Krivokapić especially recalled the current events at the security stage of Europe, focusing on positive experiences of the OSCE PA parliamentarians in the field of election monitoring.
Both the President and the Speaker will use coordinated efforts to encourage the OSCE reforms, in order for this organisation to be more prepared for the future security challenges. The Ukraine crisis has shown that the OSCE remains a central organisation for a secure and democratic development of its 57 member states.
The interlocutors agreed that only the joint effort of all member states, regardless of their size, was the key for solving the global problems, and that the role of the parliamentary democracy would be more and more visible now that the efforts of the MPs of the OSCE PA regarding the Ukrainian crisis have given tangible results.
Mr Krivokapić, as the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, has also had separate meetings with the delegation of Germany at the OSCE PA, as well as with Mr Peter Weiss, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of the German Parliament for the South East Europe; Head of the Left-wing MP Group Mr Gregor Gysi; Deputy Chief of the MP Group CDU/CSU Mr Andreas Schockenhoff, and Deputy Chief of the MP Group SPD Mr Rolf Mützenich.
Mr Krivokapić also had a meeting with the parliamentary Head of State at the Ministry of Defence Mr Markus Gruber, with whom he spoke on the OSCE position before the new security challenges which had been remodelling the security architecture of Europe for the past year.
