At the meeting with Mr Bel, Mr Krivokapić expressed appreciation for the attention the Republic of France continuously gave to Montenegro and stressed that it would be mutually beneficial for political cooperation to go hand in hand with economic, in order for further strengthening of friendly relations. President Bel pointed out that Montenegro was the restored state that France had always seen as an old friend. Mr Bel added that good cooperation between the two parliaments resulted in strong support of French deputies to Montenegro, not only through frequent visits, but also with exchange of concrete experiences. He especially pointed out to significant activities that President Krivokapić had been realizing as the leader of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, for what he deserved full support of the Republic of France.
Today's session of the French Parliament began with the ceremonial greeting of the President Mr Claude Bartolone, all MPs and the Government of the French Republic.
Mr Krivokapić met with the French delegation in the OSCE PA, where they discussed the upcoming Annual Session of the Parliamentary Assembly in Azerbaijan, which would give a new contribution to de-escalation of the Ukrainian crisis by members through dialogue, initiated with the joint meeting of delegations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation in Vienna.
It was particularly noted at the meeting that with its activities in this area, visibility of the Parliamentary Assembly was increased and its reputation in the international community recovered.
After the meeting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and the Armed Forces of the French Senate, Mr Krivokapić had a short meeting with the Minister of Defence of France, Mr Jean-Yves Le Drian.
