President of the Parliament of Montenegro today hosts the Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić hosted Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia Ms Maja Gojković, who was paying an official visit to Podgorica. 

 

President Krivokapić and Speaker Gojković have jointly emphasised that relations between Montenegro and Republic of Serbia are good at different levels, and that they are accompanied by mutual understanding. The special strength in the relations is the tendency to common goal of full-fledged membership to the EU.

At the meeting with Speaker Ms Maja Gojković, President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić noted that there was always room for improving cooperation: “It is particularly important to enhance mutual relations, and send a message to the region that even the most difficult issues can be resolved", Krivokapić underlined.

During the talk, Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia Ms Maja Gojković assessed that Montenegro has taken steps in front of the Republic of Serbia in the EU integration process and stressed that the Serbian Parliament has a lot to learn: “Driven by that, we talked on the need the two parliaments to cooperate more closely and dynamically in sharing experiences” .

President Krivokapić and Speaker Gojković, noting their long-term parliamentary experience and cooperation, concluded that it was necessary to intensify cooperation of the two parliaments in the period to come, particularly in the field of sharing experiences in EU integration, both through Friendship Group and parliamentary working bodies.
