President Krivokapić and representatives of the Venice Commission today in the Parliament have talked on the set of laws from the field of judiciary which are to be put under parliamentary procedure.
Representatives of the Venice Commission Mr Velaers and Mr Hamilton used the opportunity to emphasise the personal contribution of President Ranko Krivokapić in the procedure of amending the Constitution and adopting constitutional amendments, whose aim is strengthening independence and responsibility of judiciary and prosecution. These amendments resulted in establishing the baseline for greater independence of the judiciary and prosecution.
President Krivokapić pointed out that concerned laws were elaboration of the constitutional amendments and should aim at strengthening independence and responsibility of judiciary and prosecution.
President Krivokapić and representatives of the VC jointly assessed that it was extremely important the Venice Commission to be included in this process, and that they expect opinions of the VC which would improve the legislative regulations.
President Ranko Krivokapić thanked to representatives of the Venice Commission on their previous expert contribution, announcing the further closer cooperation.
