President Krivokapić and Minister Yildiz pointed out that Montenegro and the Republic of Turkey were actively cooperating and had high mutual understanding and good relations at all levels.
In his conversation with Minister Yildiz, President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić pointed out that the economic relations between Montenegro and Turkey were at the stage of intensifying which was mutually beneficial for both countries. “I would place special emphasis on the energy sector, because energy independence also means essential independence of a country in today’s economic and political framework. That is why we need further dedicated activity on strengthening of Montenegrin energy potential”, said President Krivokapić to his interlocutor. Mr Krivokapić emphasised the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project as especially important, not only for Montenegro, but also for the entire geographic area from Turkey to South-West Europe.
In his conversation with President Krivokapić, Minister Taner Yildiz said that there was significant interest on Turkey’s side to invest in Montenegro in sectors of mining, textile industry, agriculture and energy. “We appreciate very much the friendly relation with Montenegro, as well as your numerous achieved steps forward, both on your path toward NATO and at the national level”, said Mr Yildiz. Minister Yildiz announced that in the following period Turkey would specify the dialogue on potential investment projects in Montenegro.
