The interlocutors pointed out good bilateral relations between Montenegro and the Kingdom of Sweden
President of the Parliament Mr Ranko Krivokapić pointed out that Sweden, with its tradition as the state of social justice and security, in that sense represented a role model for Montenegro. “Montenegrin Parliament is continuously strengthening and has more and more knowledge and skills in achieving control and oversight over the executive power. That is the success of the Parliament as a whole”, pointed out president Krivokapić during his meeting with his Swedish counterpart Mr Ahlin. President Krivokapić said that our country was in the intensive stage of the Euro-Atlantic integration, and that in that path anyone who was a partner, which Sweden was, meant a lot. During the meeting he called for further development of relations and cooperation between the two parliaments.
Speaker Mr Urban Ahlin estimated that Montenegro was very successful in leading the EU integration in the region of the Western Balkans. “Sweden is strongly supporting your European path, and will be your partner every step of the way. There are clear criteria and requirements before you, and I am certain you will meet them successfully and be even closer to the EU membership”, said Speaker Ahlin.
