President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Ranko Krivokapić met today with the group of American Marshall Memorial Fellowship program alumni, that has existed for over than 30 years as part of the German Marshall Fund and it has enabled new leaders from the US and Europe to explore societies, institutions and people on the other side of the Atlantic. Mr Krivokapić and students discussed the program that became available eight years ago in the countries of the Western Balkans and the possibilities it provided for young people. Alumni were especially interested in the work of the Parliament and its working bodies as well as cooperation of the Parliament with students and NGO sector. President Krivokapić informed alumni about the ''Democratic Workshops'' project, which has been organised in the Parliament of Montenegro as part of the program "Open Parliament" and explained its purpose being strengthening the relationship between Parliament and the young, particularly primary school population. The President also pointed to the transparency of the work of the Parliament and its working bodies, as well as to the good practice of participation of civil society representatives in the work of the committees.
A group of American alumni, who met with the President today, were Cristina Aguilar, Rickey Bevington, Neal Carlson, Sean Mann, Mario Guerrero, Celena Roland-Moreno and Carrier Rosenfelt.
