The interlocutors pointed out long tradition of diplomatic relations between Montenegro and Russia, and emphasised the importance of diplomacy and dialogue for mutual understanding.
President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić pointed out that the parliaments of the two countries had good communication on many levels, which represented confirmation of continuous strengthening of parliamentary diplomacy, which was very important for promotion of relations and better mutual understanding. President Krivokapić thanked H.E. Mr Nesterenko on his completed term office in Montenegro.
The interlocutors concluded that the parliaments had increasingly efficient and important role in resolving open issues, especially through the example of the Vienna process led by President Krivokapić, as President Emeritus of OSCE PA, aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis through intensive cooperation of parliamentarians of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
They estimated at the meeting that all countries were nowadays facing various global security challenges, and that it was important for every country to approach this constructively and seriously.
