Distinguished President and councillors,

Tivat as a city of development and wise local policy, resting on the principles of rationality and sustainability, transfered its Western values to all of Montenegro on its Euro-Atlantic path. Receiving an invitation for full NATO membership is the success of all progressive forces, politics of peace and security. Tivat has every right to celebrate this historic step forward of the independent Montenegro.

I use the opportunity to personally thank you for all the efforts you have made for this foreign policy priority of our state to be reached, and I wish you further successful management of the city in the interest of all citizens of Tivat.

I am deeply convinced that Tivat will continue to be an example of Western values, while preserving its civil and multinational spirit - as one of the most beautiful air, and now even a seaports of Montenegro for all its visitors and passers-by.”
