Meeting Mr Krivokapić - Mr Breedlove

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić today received  Mr Philip M. Breedlove, Supreme Allied Commander in Europe.

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić welcomed Supreme Allied Commander in Europe Mr Philip M. Breedlove. Mr Breedlove voiced his pleasure over his visit to Montenegro which represented an act of support to our country after receiving the invitation for a full-fledged membership to the Alliance.

The interlocutors estimated that Montenegro’s accession to the NATO Alliance was mutually beneficial. Montenegro was estimated as a country which, among other things, provided a significant contribution to regional stability with its good international relations and especially good neighbourly relations, while NATO contributed to Montenegro in various domains, but mostly in promotion of security and stability.

The interlocutors agreed that continuous work on meeting membership requirements was needed for a more progressive process of Montenegro’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, as well as strengthening of communication between NATO Alliance member states and Montenegro.

Supreme Allied Commander in Europe Mr Philip M. Breedlove expressed gratitude over the reception and voiced pleasure over the fact that, by receiving invitation for joining NATO Alliance, Montenegro had made a great step forward, significant both for NATO and Montenegro. Therefore, he expressed support to President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić on Montenegro’s integration path and deemed the reforms implemented so far as positive.

President Ranko Krivokapić said that the Montenegrin Parliament was open and ready for intensifying dialogue which would lead to better understanding and cooperation.
