The constitutional tradition that dates back to 1905, gives us the right to be proud of the duration of the constitutional arrangement of our state. Chronology of Montenegrin Constitution and maturation of the society and the state are mirrored in the Constitution of independent Montenegro from 2007, and its civilizational step forward to civil, modern constitution in Europe

Today, the Constitutional Court of Montenegro, a separate state institution, is a protector and guardian of constitutionality and protection of civil rights and freedoms. This is a huge commitment and burden both in professional and civil field. The constitutional court must provide security for constitutional functioning of the State and control over all branches of power so to make them constitutionally ““limited” through mechanism of control balance, and ultimately, it must provide  security to the constitutionality of activities of institutions and individuals.

We are aware of numerous challenges in all fields of our society, but I am convinced that time of full rule of law, expert and professional independence and dignity has been maturing in Montenegro.
