Letter of condolence on the terrorist attack in Brussels

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ranko Krivokapić sent a letter of condolence to President of the Senate of Belgium Ms Christine Defraigne, President of the Chamber of Representatives Mr Siegfried Bracke, as well as President of the European Parliament Mr Martin Schulz, families of victims and all citizens of the Kingdom of Belgium, following today’s terrorist attack in Brussels.

“Distinguished families of victims,

Citizens of the Kingdom of Belgium,

Montenegro has received with grievous pain the news on today’s terrorist attack on Brussels and all lost lives.

Today, Europe and Belgium have suffered a terrible wound by losing all those lives. Considering that Brussels is the seat of institutions of the EU, NATO and numerous other international institutions, this terrorist crime is an attack on the system of values of the modern Europe, on its peace and security. This is a time which requires all of us to jointly do our best to find an urgent response to terrorism, radicalism, and such immeasurable crimes as this one.

Europe has to be a peaceful and secure place for all its inhabitants, therefore, in the fight against all forms that threaten lives and security of our citizens, we have to be stronger and more united than ever.

Montenegro sympathises with the families of the victims and with you.

On behalf of the Parliament of Montenegro and my own behalf, let me express our condolences to you.”
